Is there a way to find the best air fares based on where you depart from?
I'd love to see an interactive map, or even simply a standard listing, which shows the lowest air fares for various destinations around the world, based on your departure city. For example, I'll enter "Anchorage, Alaska", and the various lowest air fares will appear leaving from Anchorage to destinations around the world. Searching for great flight fares by choosing individual destinations is very time-consuming, and I might be missing good deals. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have (only) heard about such CHEAP fares from major metropolitan hubs. Many sites require you to subscribe to a service so they can afford fwding *their special rates* to you. :-(
