Don't be scared! About your luggage - it will probably be transferred to the second flight for you, especially if you're using the same airline, but you should check with your airline just to make sure. If you're worried about losing anything, keep your important items in your carry-on bag. I always keep a change of underwear and my toothbrush in my carry-on just in case my main luggage gets lost! At the airport - when you get off the first plane, instead of going to baggage collection, follow signs for connecting flights. It's surprisingly easy to do! It seems like you have enough time, but if your first flight is running late tell the crew that you have a connecting flight. Then they can call ahead to let them know you are coming. This happened to me and they even had someone waiting for me to rush me through check-in! Just try not to panic and take it al in your stride! Happy travels!

At the airport, go to check-in for your airline and your hold baggage will be taken. Check to see if it is checked through all the way to your final destination. If it is, all you need to do is transfer yourself for your connecting flight. If it isn't, you'll need to pick it up at the end of the first flight and check it in again. Ask the check-in clerk anything you want if you're at all unsure. You also get a boarding pass with your seat number. Then go to Departures, ID will be checked and your hand baggage screened. You might be frisked and/or have to walk through a metal detector or some other kind of scanner. Then follow everyone to the departure lounge. Display screens or boards will show all the flights and what Gate they go from - the Gate is where the aircraft is parked. When the Gate number for your flight comes up, follow the signs to that Gate number. At the Gate you will be told what to do. On landing, then if your bags are checked all the way through, follow the signs to Transfers if there are any or ask a member of airport staff where to go. If not, follow the signs to Arrivals and Baggage Reclaim. Bags come through on a conveyor belt and display screens or boards will tell you which one to wait at for your bags. Getting the next flight - same thing all over again when you get to the departure lounge. The key is that there is signposting EVERYWHERE or everyone would get lost! And ask someone if you need to. People fly all the time so it's not that bad.

1 : Airport check in , you can either choose self check in or simply go to the airport check in counter and do it that way but the self check in saves time but you will still have to go to the counter to check in your bag etc. 2 : Go through security etc until you get to the duty free shops etc 3 : Look on the screens for when your gate opens, it will say on ur boarding pass the gate number etc 4 : Shop, eat, relax 5 : Go to gate and board flight 6 : When gettng off the plane, look for where it says connection flights and go that way. Dont follow the crowd because when u go through immigration and realise uve gone the wrong way ull have to go all through check in again and potter around the terminal again which can take ages and cause u to miss ur connecting flight. They will not let u go back through immigration and security if u have already passed through! 7 : Ask for any assistance if ur not sure or worried 8 : Goodluck and have a safe flight
